Chandler's Ford Street Pastors

About Us

Welcome to Chandlers Ford Street Pastors

Friday 2nd July 2010 saw the launch of Street Pastors in Chandler’s Ford. Volunteers from the local churches walked out onto the streets to talk with, listen to and offer practical help to the people they met. Since then, on Friday nights, a team has gone out on the streets of Chandler’s Ford.

As our area is a mainly residential area, the majority of our contacts are with the young people of the area. So, we visit the areas where young people congregate – Hiltingbury Rec, Velmore, Fryern Rec, Freespace and Knightwood.

If you see us out of a Friday night, please come and talk to us; it would be great to meet you.

Chandler’s Ford Street Pastors held their latest AGM on 13th February and were pleased to be able to report another successful year of operation.

Patrols had continued without a break, through the depths of winter snow, and contact had been made with alarge number of local people during that time.

A highlight has been the way in which the teams from so many different local churches have worked together and also the liaison with various local agencies. The local police have been, and still are, hugely supportive of the role played by Street Pastors and have even approached us to ask for help which is a huge compliment.

The Chandler’s Ford group now has a Prayer Pastor Co-ordinator, which had been a target set last year, as well as a church leader (Tim Searle from the URC) on the management committee.

Two new Street Pastors were commissioned for Chandler’s Ford at an inspiring group service held at St Thomas’ Church in Fair Oak in March 2013. They were part of a group of 12 who trained together, the others coming from Eastleigh, Fair Oak and Hedge End, with whom we work closely.  We now have a team of 20.

Chandler’s Ford is generally a quiet area, but ….. “we’ll never know what didn’t happen because we were there”.

Do get in touch if you you’d like to find out more.
